Texas State Artist 2010

Marc Burckhardt has been named Texas State Artist for 2010. No stranger to publicity, he has done work for the History Channel, TIME magazine, and Texas Monthly just to name a few. His work has been collected by the late Johnny Cash, Ralph Lauren, and Oprah Winfrey among others. Burkhardt has put his mark on the national and international art scene exhibiting in several shows a year since 2004. He has a
blog, a website, and a book, "American Paintings" to view his work or find out what he is doing next. This hardworking artist is in great company. The full list of previous Texas State Artist of the Year Mark Burhardt shares the honor with are on this website.
Mark Burkhardt is in great company and is very deserving of this Honor.

UNT Alumni exhibits at HCG Gallery

Two x Two for Aids and Art


Michael Ledoux donated his piece Fruit of a Traceable Cause to the tenth annual TWO X TWO for Aids and Art, which jointly benefits amfAR, The foundation for AIDS Research and the Dallas Museum of Art. Adriana Carvalho and Sotheby's



Adiana Carvalho donated art work for the 8th annual Wish! Art Auction, presented by Sotheby’s and Papercity Magazine, benefiting the Dallas Contemporary. A Saturday in May 2008


Sergio Garcia, Luke Harnden and Mark Nelson win first place in Deep Ellum’s Re*Cov*Er competition in May 2008. Five artists competed in last week's Re*Cov*Er mural competition in Deep Ellum, adorning the walls of Dallas' coveted neighborhood with more murals executed by local artists. The winners were announced Saturday at The Prophet Bar (remember the small part of the Gypsy Tea Room? This is now the Prophet Bar). The finalists were announced last Friday, giving the artists one week to complete their murals. Check out the full article here.

“Tony Larsen at Euro RSCG contacted me to work with him on a project that involved subject matter I couldn't pass up: hot sauce and devils. Frank's Hot Sauce is spicy stuff, and Tony wanted to convey the heat of the product in a visual straight out of hell. Carlos Donjuan show "Tierra Nueva" at Satellite Space gets Reviewed

David McCullough Honored


David McCullough winner of the Moss/Chumley Artist Award

This award was established in 1995 in memory of Frank Moss and Jim Chumley. The pair made outstanding contributions to the visual arts in North Texas during the 1980’s. The prize is given annually to an outstanding North Texas artist who has exhibited professionally for at least ten years and who has proven track record as an active community advocate for the visual arts.
